No Brazilian employment link
The route is for foreigners without an employment relationship in Brazil and with a foreign source of income.
Financial proof
The rule requires proof of at least US$ 1,500 monthly income or at least US$ 18,000 in bank funds.
Term and renewal
The initial visa or residence authorization can be granted for up to one year and may be renewed for equal periods.
Additional documents
Valid passport, health insurance, criminal records, forms, fees and case-specific documents may be required.
Apply abroad or in Brazil
The request may be made through a Brazilian consular authority abroad or, in certain cases, as a residence authorization in Brazil.
